Finley's World: The Movie 2 is the sequel in the Finley's World: The Movie series, released in 2012. It was produced by Cartoon Network Studios and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. This film was directed by Finley Small and Brian Bland, and produced by Robert Stainton. The film was released on December 26, 2012.
In this sequel, Bob Beanson kidnaps the mayor of 123 Finley's World, so he can rule the Tri-State Area, As Amanda wants to see what's happening in the world, Finley found out that Bob Beanson kidnapped the mayor, so he has to defeat Bob Beanson along with Molly and save the mayor.
When Bob Beanson was originally meant to not appear in the early drafts of Finley's World: The Movie, Finley Small stated "Bob Beanson must return in the sequel." In August 2011, a sequel was announced by Warner Bros. In May 2012, a sneak peek was shown. Finley Small said, "Finley's World has had lots of specials, TV-movies, and a feature film, but I'm not sure about the sequel". Terry Ward answered "Well, we already made a sneak peek", showing that it was not 100% dead. In June 2012, it was reported that the main cast of Finley's World: The Movie were set for huge paychecks for voicing a sequel to the movie. Following a successful collaboration with the original film, Christopher Ryan, the voice of Satin Guy, had signed a two-year, first-look production deal with Warner Bros., where he also signed director Brian Bland to a two-year deal. The film was produced with a US$60 million budget.
Warner Bros. began production of the film in 2012, which was actually it is. Warner Bros. made sure there was something new to see in Finley's World: The Movie 2 by putting more human characters in the film than there were in its predecessor and improving their appearance, with the use of a few systems that dealt with hair and fur to improve its appearance and movement. The set up for all the characters was done in the first 3 years of production.
On July 10, 2012, Finley announced that he is working on the script, and that the release date was set for Boxing Day 2016 instead of its date of December 25, 2012.
